Development of 'green' energy continues in Vinnytsia.
Solar power plants with a total capacity of 16.05 MW installed in Vinnytsia
At the beginning of November, solar power plants with a total peak capacity of 16.05 MW were installed in Vinnytsia. These stations operate based on Vinnytsia enterprises (15.61 MW) and local municipal enterprises (0.44 MW). This was reported by the Vinnytsia City Council.
«This is a significant result for our community, which was achieved in a short period. It is important for the development of renewable energy to continue because our ability to withstand challenges in the winter, when prolonged power outages due to RF attacks are possible, depends on this», – noted Deputy Mayor Andriy Ocheryetny.
In Vinnytsia, more than 70 business entities have installed solar panels to use renewable energy sources. Moreover, solar panels were installed in several medical institutions and a transport company.
«To increase the number of installed solar power plants, the Vinnytsia City Council has implemented a range of financial support tools that stimulate businesses and HOAs. And at the last session, deputies approved the allocation of over 4 million UAH for the installation of solar power plants on the buildings of hospital №1 and emergency medical care. Energy security and independence are not all the advantages of using renewable energy sources. By using inexhaustible energy sources, we reduce the negative impact on the environment and take a step toward the development of innovations and new technologies. In our community, there are several enterprises that install renewable energy systems, which are the drivers of these processes, and this is important for us in terms of the community's competitiveness», he added.
American solar panel manufacturers unite their efforts
In the US, two small solar energy producers have joined forces to produce panels that will allow solar project developers to receive a federal subsidy for American clean energy equipment. This was reported by Reuters.
The Biden administration promotes the agreement between Georgia-based solar battery manufacturer Suniva and Canadian company Heliene, which manufactures panels in Minnesota. They claim that such subsidies contribute to the development of the domestic solar industry and help compete with China.
