WhatsApp Launches Guest Chats: How to Communicate Without an Account in the Messenger.
WhatsApp is testing a new feature called 'guest chats', which will allow communication with people who do not use this messenger. The update is already available for Android users participating in the Google Play Beta program. With the new feature, you can send invitations for private conversations with non-users, who can join the chat without installing the app.
Invitations can be sent in any convenient way (SMS, email, social networks). No account creation or app installation is required for guest conversations.
The new feature has limitations: the inability to send media files, voice, and video calls, as well as group chats. However, all messages will be protected by encryption and accessible only to participants in the conversation.
WhatsApp is actively introducing new features, such as short message digests and showing ads in the app. However, the new advertising feature does not affect user privacy since it is based on general content rather than personal chats.
WhatsApp has started testing 'guest chats', which allow exchanging messages with people who do not use this messenger. The new feature is already available for Android users but has some limitations that prohibit sending media files and making group calls. All messages will be protected by encryption, ensuring the privacy of conversations. News about this was spread by the app on Twitter.
