Ballistic Strike Kills One and Injures a 17-Year-Old Girl in Chernihiv.
Attacks on Chernihiv and Kharkiv Region
According to UATV: On April 2, 2023, Russian forces launched a ballistic missile attack on Chernihiv, resulting in one fatality and injuring a 17-year-old girl. The strike targeted a local industrial facility, damaging several utility buildings on the site.
Dmytro Bryzhynskyi, head of the Chernihiv City Military Administration, provided a statement on the incident, saying:
'The enemy struck one of Chernihiv's enterprises with a ballistic missile. The attack caused damage to storage and service structures at the facility. Preliminary reports indicate one man was killed. A 17-year-old girl was also injured by the blast wave.' Dmytro Bryzhynskyi
Attacks on Civilian Infrastructure
In addition, on the same day, Russian forces used drones to strike the Kharkiv region, injuring three children in the settlement of Lymanovka. These incidents underscore the ongoing aggression by Russian troops within Ukraine.
The attacks come as the Russia-Ukraine war, now in its second year, continues to exact a heavy toll on civilian life. Strikes on non-military targets, such as factories and residential zones, have drawn international concern over civilian safety and the worsening humanitarian crisis in conflict-affected areas. Highlighting such events is crucial to reinforcing calls for a peaceful resolution and stronger protections for non-combatants.
