Rocket strike during the awards ceremony in Dnipropetrovsk region: 19 dead.
Tragedy in Dnipropetrovsk during the awards ceremony
According to inkorr.com: The solemn awarding of military personnel in the Dnipropetrovsk region turned into a real tragedy this autumn. On November 1, Russian troops struck a peaceful gathering of Ukrainian defenders using ballistic missiles and kamikaze drones.
According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, as a result of this attack, 12 military personnel and 7 civilians were killed, while another 36 fighters were wounded.
The investigation revealed that the tragedy occurred due to a violation of directives from the General Staff, which prohibited holding gatherings in areas of increased danger. The commander of the drone unit ignored these instructions and organized the awards ceremony.
'After the air raid alert was announced, he did not stop the event and did not disperse the military personnel,' the Office of the Prosecutor General reported.
The State Bureau of Investigation has already announced a suspicion against the commander for negligence in military service under martial law according to Ukrainian legislation. The prosecutor's office demands his detention without the right to bail.
This incident was a heavy blow to the military collective and the local population, disrupting peace in the region and causing increased tension.
The tragedy in Dnipropetrovsk underscores the extraordinary risks faced by Ukrainian military personnel and the necessity for strict adherence to instructions in combat zones. Military leadership must do everything possible to prevent similar cases from recurring, as complete focus on safety must never take a back seat during any ceremonies.
