In Poltava, which on September 3 underwent a missile strike, search and rescue operations continue, and the number of dead has increased to 54 people. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
The number of dead as a result of the Russian strike on an educational institution in Poltava has increased to 54 people. Another 297 people were injured. Search and rescue operations continue taking into account safety aspects, - the report says.
Law enforcement officers also clarified that, probably, up to five more people may be under the rubble. 1760 tons of construction debris have already been dismantled and removed, - added the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
As reported, the head of the Poltava Regional State Administration and President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed the Russian missile strike on Poltava. Hits were recorded on the territory of the educational institution and the neighboring hospital. More than 40 dead and more than 180 wounded.
Recall that as of the morning of September 4, it was known that 53 people died as a result of yesterday's enemy strike on an educational institution in Poltava. Another 298 people were injured. In addition, as a result of the attack, a six-story building of the educational building was partially destroyed, three apartment buildings, five private houses, and an office building were damaged.
Eyewitnesses told "Glavcom" that the strike on Poltava was very powerful, black smoke billowed into the sky. The Poltava Blood Transfusion Station, which operates on the basis of the regional hospital, announced an urgent blood collection. In addition, an operational headquarters for the elimination of the consequences of the strike in Poltava began work.
The First Lady Olena Zelenska said that in addition to the military school, the hospital also suffered from the Russian air attack.
Meanwhile, the State Bureau of Investigation has opened a case regarding the missile strike on the training center in Poltava, but it is not yet known under which article.
