Drone Strike Hits Supermarket Roof in Zaporizhzhia at 3:00 PM, Leaving Several Injured.
Attack on Zaporizhzhia
According to Espreso.tv: A drone explosion struck the city of Zaporizhzhia at 3:00 PM, causing injuries and damaging buildings. Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, reported that the blast occurred near a shopping center. The impact hit the roof of a supermarket at 3:20 PM, triggering a fire in an apartment of a building located across the street.
Update as of 4:25 PM
As of 4:25 PM, Fedorov confirmed three injured individuals, including a 10-year-old boy who was hospitalized. The boy's father also sustained injuries, along with two other victims—men aged 67 and 49. The attack damaged at least eight multi-story residential buildings and several non-residential structures. During the night of June 6, the enemy also launched drone strikes across three regions of Ukraine, including Odesa and Mykolaiv, where destruction was reported but no casualties occurred.
This strike on Zaporizhzhia is part of a broader pattern of drone warfare in the conflict, which continues to have severe consequences for civilians.
The damage to infrastructure and injuries to people highlight the urgent need to address such threats and enhance security measures in the region. Meanwhile, the events in Zaporizhzhia reflect the wider context of military operations in Ukraine, where civilian sites remain frequent targets of attacks.
