Strikes on Bridges Near Chongar: Road Traffic to Crimea Halted.
Logistics Routes in Southern Ukraine Under Fire
According to Novyny.live: Overnight attacks have severely damaged key bridges in the direction of Chongar, effectively cutting off vehicle access to the Crimean peninsula. As a result, all traffic heading to the 'Dzhankoi' checkpoint in Crimea has been blocked. These strikes targeted the Crimean bridges leading toward Chongar, causing significant disruption to Russian supply lines in southern Ukraine.
Specifically, the road bridge near Chongar on the R-280 highway was hit, complicating logistics and supply operations. This has extended the supply route for military equipment by an additional 100 kilometers, making it far more difficult to transport ammunition and other essential materials to Russian forces.
Confirmation from Occupied Officials
Vladimir Saldo, the Moscow-appointed 'governor' of occupied parts of the Kherson region, confirmed the damage to the bridges, stating:
“During the night, bridges on the route toward Chongar were struck.” - Vladimir Saldo
The situation in southern Ukraine remains tense, and further actions could lead to additional complications for the region's transport infrastructure. This development is particularly significant as it directly impacts the ability to resupply Russian troops operating in the area.
The closure of these critical logistics routes severely hampers the Russian military's capacity to sustain combat operations in southern Ukraine. Given the strategic importance of controlling transportation arteries in the conflict, ongoing strikes on infrastructure may represent a deliberate effort by Ukraine to degrade the enemy's military capabilities.
