Fire at the Kuibyshev Oil Refinery
In addition, a fire broke out at the Kuibyshev oil refinery in Samara, one of the largest petroleum enterprises in the region. This refinery is part of Rosneft and has been targeted multiple times before; it was last attacked in January 2023. Reports indicate that on May 5, Ukrainian defense forces used Flamingo missiles to strike military-industrial complex sites in Cheboksary, a move likely tied to rising tensions in the area.
