Man Evades Mobilization and Injures Soldier in Kherson Region
According to Novyny.live: A native of the Kherson region who evaded mobilization and stabbed a military instructor has been handed a suspended sentence. The verdict was issued by the Ivanychi District Court in the Volyn region on March 12.
Court documents reveal that the conscript received a summons on March 20, 2024, but failed to report to the military enlistment office by 4:00 PM the following day. While attempting to avoid mobilization, he used violence against a Territorial Recruitment Center (TCC) instructor, inflicting a stab wound. The victim, a serviceman, sustained severe injuries, including a penetrating knife wound to the chest.
Court Ruling and Its Implications
The court sentenced the offender to five years in prison, but the punishment was commuted to two years of probation. Notably, the verdict can be appealed within 30 days.
