Zelensky, Macron, and Starmer sign agreement on multinational forces in Ukraine.
According to ТСН: Today in Paris, the presidents of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, France Emmanuel Macron, and the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Keir Starmer signed a declaration regarding the deployment of multinational forces in Ukraine after the war ends.
Monitoring system and international participation
The document states that 'There will be a continuous, reliable monitoring system for the ceasefire. It will be led by the USA with international participation,' according to the draft statement, reports The Guardian.
Multinational forces and their role
The declaration states that multinational forces, which will be deployed after the ceasefire, will provide 'measures to maintain peace in the air, sea, and on land' and 'the restoration of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.' European forces will also participate in this process.
The USA will also join these forces, particularly through 'such American capabilities as intelligence and logistics.' They commit to supporting the forces in case of an attack from Russia.
Commitments to support Ukraine
The declaration outlines 'commitments to support Ukraine in the event of a future armed attack from the Russian Federation to restore peace.' This 'may include the use of military potential, intelligence and logistical support, diplomatic initiatives, and the adoption of additional sanctions,' the statement says.
Creation of military centers
As noted by Sky News, after the ceasefire, the United Kingdom and France also plan to establish 'military centers' throughout Ukraine to ensure the deployment and construction of secure facilities for weapons and military equipment necessary to support Ukraine's defense needs.
As a reminder, earlier Bloomberg reported that the USA promised to support Ukraine in the event of a new attack from the Russian Federation.
Thus, the signed declaration has become an important step in preparing for the stabilization of the situation in Ukraine after the cessation of hostilities, providing international support and strengthening the defense of the state. The collective efforts of partners will provide Ukraine with the necessary resources and protection from potential threats in the future.
