Ukraine and Croatia will monitor the activities of the Russian shadow fleet.
The Prime Ministers of Ukraine and Croatia, Denys Shmyhal and Andrej Plenković, discussed the possibility of creating a joint working group to monitor the activities of the Russian shadow fleet.
During their meeting in Zagreb, they also talked about the possibility of easing Russia's aggressive actions and continuing sanctions as the main tool of counteraction. However, the focus was on the shadow fleet, which poses a threat to NATO member countries, rather than just being an instrument for evasion by Russia.
'The Prime Minister and I agreed on the possibility of creating a joint Ukrainian-Croatian working group that will monitor the illegal activities of the Russian shadow fleet,' Shmyhal stated.
Ukraine and Croatia are jointly trying to hold Russia accountable for its aggressive actions. Croatia already supports the work of the International Register of Damages, while Ukraine insists on the full confiscation of frozen Russian assets and their transfer to support stability and recovery.
