EU Commissioner Kubilius: Ukraine has a right to NATO and the EU, there will be no division of Europe.
According to FREEДOM: EU Commissioner for Defense Andrius Kubilius noted that every country has the right to choose its path to the European Union and NATO. He emphasized that no one has the right to interfere in this decision, not even great powers like Russia.
“In 1939, there was an agreement between two dictators, Stalin and Hitler, about the division of Europe. This agreement marked the beginning of World War II and 50 years of slavery for the Baltic countries and all of Central Europe. Today, we must learn from history,’ he emphasized.
Kubilius supported Ukraine's position in its struggle for independence and noted that the meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and US President Donald Trump was very important for the future of the region.
In his speech, he called for respect for the sovereignty of each country and expressed support for Ukraine in its Euro-Atlantic aspirations.
