According to Novyny.live: A new phase in gas metering has begun in Ukraine, driven by the deployment of smart modules that modernize older meters. These devices give consumers more accurate consumption data and simplify the tracking process. A total of 40,000 domestically produced smart modules have been purchased and provided at no cost to LLC 'Gas Distribution Networks of Ukraine'.

Under EU Directive 2012/27, member states are required to implement intelligent metering systems, and Ukraine is no exception. The country must report on its progress in adopting smart gas metering by 2027. Currently, eight gas suppliers operate in Ukraine and can take advantage of these new technologies.
