Ukraine currently does not plan to increase VAT - Ministry of Finance.

Finance Minister Serhiy Marchenko stated that Ukraine has no intention of raising the value-added tax. This idea was previously discussed with international partners, but it is not currently planned. During consultations with the IMF, another question regarding the VAT rate arose, but after the budget for the next year was approved, this question became irrelevant. Marchenko noted that there is no need to make decisions regarding VAT and emphasized that this topic may become relevant again depending on the fulfillment of other obligations and the country's fiscal policy.
The minister acknowledged that the situation in Ukraine, particularly in the conflict zone, is unpredictable and therefore the question of increasing VAT will not disappear. However, if the country successfully fulfills other obligations, demonstrates the effectiveness of increased taxes, and does not need to drastically increase expenditures, then the issue of raising VAT will not be considered. Currently, there are no such plans.
