Ukraine will not accept Putin's ultimatums, just as it did not accept them at the beginning of the war, - Zelensky.
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, and his wife Olena opened the new building of the Ukrainian embassy in Ankara. The future Ambassador of Ukraine to Turkey, Nariman Jelyal, was present at the solemn ceremony.
The new diplomatic complex is the first to be built abroad since the beginning of the Russian invasion. The project was initiated back in 2019 by the then ambassador, now Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha. Construction began in 2021.
During the opening, Volodymyr Zelensky emphasized the importance of support and friendly ties with Turkey during times of trials. The President also met with representatives of the Ukrainian and Crimean Tatar communities, where they discussed the issues of post-war reconstruction of Ukraine and the release of political prisoners.
The President added that Ukraine does not agree to Russian ultimatums in 2022 and will not agree now. He emphasized that the diplomatic path does not mean ceding territories or sovereignty.
One of the key topics of the planned meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is Turkey's participation in providing security guarantees for Ukraine. The head of the President's Office, Andrii Yermak, reported that an important conversation about a just peace and security guarantees will take place.
