Ukraine handed over a list of seriously ill Crimean political prisoners to Turkey.
Dmytro Lubinets, the Commissioner for Human Rights of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, reported a meeting between the representative of the VRU Commissioner for the Rights of Crimea Residents, Elvin Kadyrov, and the Adviser to the President of Turkey, Yalcin Topcu. During the meeting, Kadyrov handed over lists of seriously ill political prisoners who are illegally imprisoned by the Russian Federation.
The main topic of the conversation was Ukrainian citizens from the occupied peninsula who suffer from illegal persecution and are imprisoned by the Russian authorities, in violation of international humanitarian law.
In addition, special attention was paid to seriously ill political prisoners, including Tofik Abdulgasiev, Iryna Danilovych, and Amet Suleymanov, who suffer from serious illnesses that make their detention in prisons impossible.
"Tofik Abdulgasiev's health condition is critical. He has lost over 10 kg of weight and has various infectious diseases, including open-form tuberculosis. For him, further detention is practically a death sentence," said the representative of the Commissioner for the Rights of Crimea Residents.
Kadyrov emphasized the importance of finding ways to influence the Russian Federation to release all illegally imprisoned Crimean political prisoners. He handed over a list of seriously ill political prisoners for further communication with the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, aiming for their release.
