Ukraine to Audit Citizen Incomes Using EU Methodology: Who Will Be Surveyed.
Nationwide Income Survey Scheduled for 2026
According to Novyny.live: From March to June 2026, Ukraine will launch a new survey to verify the incomes of selected citizens, employing the European Union's EU-SILC methodology. Data collection is set to begin in mid-March 2026 and will continue through June of the same year. The survey will cover 22 regions across Ukraine, targeting a broad cross-section of socio-economic groups. This initiative aims to align Ukraine's data collection practices with European standards, providing more reliable insights into household finances.
More than 18,000 households have been selected to participate. Importantly, participation is entirely voluntary, giving citizens the freedom to decide whether to share their information. During the survey, respondents will be asked about various aspects of their lives, including:
- gender
- age
- marital status
- education
- housing
- employment
- income
- financial situation
The collected data will help paint a clearer picture of the country's socio-economic landscape.
Data Privacy and Quality Assurance
All information provided by Ukrainians will be treated as confidential, ensuring the protection of participants' personal data. By adopting the EU-SILC methodology—a proven framework used across the European Union—Ukraine aims to generate high-quality data that can inform government policies and programs designed to improve living conditions.
This survey represents a key step in gathering statistical data that could serve as a foundation for enhancing social programs in Ukraine.
The EU-SILC methodology has already demonstrated its effectiveness in EU member states, boosting the reliability of the results. The findings will be used to evaluate the performance of existing social initiatives and to identify priorities for future reforms.
