The Situation in Crimea

According to Novyny.live: Ukrainian defense forces are actively striking Russian air defense systems in Crimea, compelling the enemy to relocate their positions due to heavy losses. Dmytro Pletenchuk, a spokesperson for the Ukrainian Navy, reported that Ukrainian forces are targeting Russian radar systems and missile launchers. This has created serious challenges for the Russian military in protecting strategic assets on the occupied peninsula.

Specifically, Pletenchuk noted:

“Most likely, yes, there are windows. Either the systems they are using are ineffective at stopping the work of Ukraine’s defense forces, or there is indeed some kind of shortage.”

Furthermore, Russian occupiers have nearly ceased deploying large warships into the Black Sea due to the threat of precision strikes. Pletenchuk emphasized that

“Russia is not sending ships out, effectively. Currently, there are zero units at sea.”

Logistical Support for Russian Troops

Railways remain the primary supply artery for Russian forces in occupied southern Ukraine. Recent strikes on logistical hubs on the mainland are limiting the Russians’ ability to move resources. Pletenchuk highlighted the importance of targeting systems such as the 'Bastion' coastal defense systems, which can launch Zircon missiles, as well as Iskander missile systems, which are among the top priorities. He stated:

  • The main logistical supply route is the railway running through occupied Ukrainian territory in the south.

As a result, the situation on the occupied peninsula is becoming increasingly tense, as Ukrainian forces continue to attack critical enemy infrastructure, complicating their defensive capabilities.

These developments underscore the growing pressure on Russian forces in Crimea, who now face new hurdles in securing their strategic sites. Strikes on air defense systems and supply lines could significantly hamper their ability to respond to threats, adding further strain on the front lines. At the same time, the activity of Ukrainian forces signals their determination to keep fighting for control over key territories and resources in the region.
