Ukraine and the EU Expand the TEN-T Network: What Transport Routes to Expect.
Discussion of Key Transport Issues in Ukraine
According to inkorr.com: Vice Prime Minister for Reconstruction and Minister for Community and Territorial Development Oleksii Kuiba met with the Director for Transport of the European Commission, Magdalena Kaczynska. The key aspects of Ukraine's transport development were in the focus of their attention.
In particular, they discussed the Agreement on Road Transport, which is important for supporting trade in conflict conditions.
The issue of European integration and the integration of Ukrainian transport routes into the European TEN-T network was also raised.
'The opening of the Euro-gauge railway between Chop and Uzhhorod is an example of how cooperation works within the CEF program. Among the next projects is a new line from the border with Poland to Lviv, as well as another nine routes that have already been selected for implementation. All of them are meant to exemplify how effectively the cooperation between Ukraine and the European Union is realized.'
'The additional expansion of the TEN-T network will open new opportunities for Ukraine in international logistics and strengthen ties with the European economy,' emphasized Kuiba.
The holding of the Ukrainian-European Union High-Level Transport Dialogue this fall in Ukraine and the work on adapting transport legislation to European standards were also discussed.
Ukraine is actively carrying out reforms in the transport sector, aiming to complete key measures by the end of 2027 with the support of European partners.
These efforts are aimed at improving the country's transport system and integrating its infrastructure into European systems, which is an important step towards Eurointegration. Cooperation with the European Union opens new prospects for the Ukrainian economy and business, particularly in the field of international transportation.
