At Davos, Ukraine's Umerov Aligns Security Strategy with Key European Allies.
Ukrainian Delegation Engages in Intensive Talks at Davos Forum
According to Novyny.live: Rustem Umerov, Secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council, has detailed the active schedule of the Ukrainian delegation at the World Economic Forum in Davos. Alongside Kyrylo Budanov and David Arakhamia, Umerov has already held meetings with the national security advisors of France, Germany, and the United Kingdom. These high-level diplomatic engagements are crucial as Ukraine seeks to solidify international backing for its defense and future reconstruction.
'We are working in Davos together with Kyrylo Budanov and David Arakhamia,' Umerov noted in a Telegram post on January 20.
He emphasized that the delegation has successfully aligned approaches on security guarantees and subsequent diplomatic efforts. Umerov stressed the importance of these meetings for strengthening international support for Ukraine.
'Ahead are further meetings with partners regarding security guarantees, economic development, and the recovery of Ukraine,' he added.
These negotiations are vital for shaping a unified strategy on security and development, which will, in turn, contribute to regional stability.
The Significance of the Davos Forum Meetings
The meetings at the World Economic Forum in Davos represent a key component of Ukraine's foreign policy, especially given the ongoing war and the critical need for sustained international assistance. Cooperation with major allies such as:
- France
- Germany
- The United Kingdom
could significantly impact Ukraine's security and economic recovery. Such diplomatic efforts will not only strengthen bilateral relations but also help forge a broader international consensus in support of Ukraine. The Davos forum provides a unique platform for this coordination outside of formal military or political summits.
