Attorney General Pam Bondi warned Representative Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) on Sunday to be 'very careful' with her recent statements expressing support for Elon Musk and his 'overthrow'.
'She is an elected public official, so she really needs to be careful, as nothing will happen with Elon Musk, and we are going to defend all Tesla owners across the country,' Bondi said during an appearance on Fox's 'Sunday Morning Futures'.
This warning came a few days after the Democrat spoke at a virtual meeting organized for the 'The Tesla Takedown' movement, a group that is coming together against Musk and his efforts by the Department of Public Efficiency to dismantle the federal bureaucracy through boycotts and demonstrations at Tesla properties. The coalition is organizing 500 demonstrations on March 29 at Tesla locations nationwide.
'March 29 is my birthday, and all I want to see on that day is Elon’s overthrow,' Crockett said during her speech. 'I learned as a member of the DOGE oversight committee that people in power only understand one language, and that language is money.'
Crockett noted during the meeting that her calls to action are nonviolent.
There have been widespread protests against Tesla sites in the U.S. over the past few weeks, sometimes accompanied by vandalism, due to Musk's involvement with the Trump administration. Bondi’s warning also pertains to her recent statement that the Justice Department has charged three people with damaging Tesla vehicles and property, which she called 'domestic terrorism.'
Before calling out Crockett, Bondi reiterated her determination to prevent the protests.
'We are not dropping these charges,' she said. 'We are looking at everything, especially if it is applied action.'
