Ukraine to Resume Flights from Boryspil or Lviv Airports: Timelines Announced.

Flights from Lviv and Boryspil airports will be resumed by the end of January 2025. This was stated by Crispin Ellison at the Kyiv International Economic Forum in Kyiv.
Ellison emphasized that by the end of January, Ukrainian airports could host five or six airlines willing to operate flights from Ukraine. He also noted that aviation insurance would be easier to arrange if flights start from Lviv airport. However, President Volodymyr Zelensky insists on opening Boryspil airport.
Ellison believes that Lviv is a safer place for flights compared to Tel Aviv. The final decision on flights will be made in the Office of the President depending on the performance of air defense and the security situation.
Previously, Lviv Mayor Andriy Sadovyi stated that discussions about opening the airport in Lviv are underway, but a decision has not yet been made. He also expressed hope that in 2024, Lviv will have air connections with the world.
It is also reported that airBaltic plans to resume flights from Kyiv, Odesa, and Lviv if flight safety is ensured.
