Ukraine Strikes Russian Oil Facility 500 km from Border with Drones.
Ukraine’s Retaliatory Actions Against Russian Aggression
According to UATV: Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that a drone strike hit the 'Armavir' oil infrastructure site in Russia’s Krasnodar region, roughly 500 kilometers from Ukraine’s border. He described the operation as part of Ukraine’s response to ongoing Russian attacks. This strike underscores Kyiv’s growing capability to reach deep into Russian territory.
Zelenskyy emphasized that these new long-range sanctions represent a key step in a plan to retaliate for every hostile action Russia has taken against Ukraine and its people.
'Our new long-range sanctions—and this is 500 kilometers from our state border. It is only fair to return the war to where it came from,' said Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Aligning Sanctions with International Partners
The president also noted that these measures are synchronized with European Union decisions targeting individuals and companies from Russia, Iran, and Sudan. This coordination highlights Ukraine’s active efforts to build an international coalition aimed at tightening pressure on the aggressor.
The strike on Russian oil infrastructure marks a significant escalation in the conflict, signaling Ukraine’s determination to continue countering aggression. By aligning closely with EU partners, Kyiv aims not only to defend its own territory but also to rally global support against Moscow. Such actions could shift the conflict’s dynamics, raising the stakes and forcing Russia to respond to Ukraine’s operations under new conditions.
