Ukraine's New Polish-Language YouTube Channel Draws Over 140,000 Views in First Days.
Launch of the Polish-Language YouTube Channel 'UATV po polsku'
According to UATV: Ukraine has launched a new YouTube channel, 'UATV po polsku', to provide Polish-speaking audiences with news and updates directly from Ukraine. The initiative, spearheaded by the state enterprise 'Multimedia Platform of Foreign Broadcasting of Ukraine', has already surpassed 140,000 views and gained over 1,000 subscribers in its initial days of operation. This launch is part of a broader effort to counter disinformation and share Ukraine's perspective with key international audiences.
Data shows that 76.3% of the channel's viewership originates from within Poland itself, indicating strong initial interest from its primary target audience. The cities generating the most views are:
- Warsaw
- Wrocław
- Katowice
- Kraków
- Gdańsk
At the project's outset, a striking 99.5% of all views came from outside Ukraine, highlighting significant international interest in Ukrainian affairs.
Vadym Lubchak, a project representative, emphasized that 'Poland is a direct neighbor and a strategic partner of Ukraine.'
The channel's content focuses on key Ukrainian news, including diplomatic and military developments, official statements from Ukraine's president and world leaders, and episodes of the 'Hybrid Operations' and 'Special Report' series. This underscores the importance of direct information sharing between the allied nations.
Future Expansion of the Initiative
Building on this launch, plans are in place to expand the initiative with the introduction of dedicated YouTube channels in German and Turkish by December 2025. This expansion aims to reach and inform an even more diverse global audience about events in Ukraine.
The launch of 'UATV po polsku' marks a significant step in Ukraine's proactive international communications strategy, particularly within the context of its vital relationship with Poland. In the face of modern challenges and information warfare, such initiatives help shape a positive image of Ukraine abroad and ensure international communities receive accurate, timely information. The planned addition of German and Turkish-language channels demonstrates Ukraine's commitment to broadening its direct dialogue with varied international audiences.
