Ukrainians must digitize their labor books by June 10, 2026: consequences of delay.
Deadline for digitizing labor books in Ukraine
According to inkorr.com: Citizens of Ukraine must complete the digitization of their labor books by June 10, 2026. Otherwise, this may lead to the loss of insurance history and part of pension payments.
According to the adopted law №1217, electronic labor books are being introduced into Ukrainian legislation.
The labor book is particularly important for confirming work experience before 2004, since it was from this time that the Pension Fund began keeping electronic records. If the paper document is not converted into electronic format, difficulties may arise in confirming work experience.
To digitize the labor book, one can use the web portal or the mobile application 'Pension Fund'. Be sure to check the accuracy of the entered data in the electronic system.
Consequences of not digitizing
The risk of losing insurance history and its impact on pension payments is especially relevant for those who worked before 2004, had informal employment, did not pay insurance contributions, or have errors in the entries of their labor book. In case of losing the book, work experience can be confirmed with other documents.
Not digitizing the labor book may lead to a reduction in pension payments, as the minimum insurance history is critically important for receiving a pension. It is important to seek help in a timely manner and properly digitize the data.
Therefore, it is important for Ukrainians to pay attention to the process of digitizing labor books in order to avoid possible problems in the future. Timely completion of the digitization will allow them to preserve their rights to pension payments and confirm their work experience. It is recommended to actively use available resources, such as the web portal and mobile application, for this process.
