Changes in gas delivery tariffs are expected for Ukrainians starting January 2025

Changes in gas delivery tariffs are expected for Ukrainians starting January 2025. The base tariff will remain unchanged, but the volume of consumption will change, affecting the amount of payments. Residents of small settlements who use gas for heating will have to pay more. However, those who save can reduce their bills.

The current practice is to pay for delivery based on consumption from October 2022 to September 2023, and from 2025 it will be calculated for the period from October 2023 to September 2024. The bill consists of the delivery tariff and the volume of consumption, where the tariff remains unchanged, but the volume is variable.

For example, let's consider the gas expenses of a family of three. On average, 5 cubic meters of gas are used to heat one square meter of living space; a house of 100 square meters will need approximately 500 cubic meters of gas in winter. Additionally, the family consumes 31.5 cubic meters of gas for cooking and heating water each month. During the heating season, they will consume about 531.5 cubic meters of gas, and in the warm season - 31.5 cubic meters.

Taking into account the warm and cold seasons, each year the family will use 3878 cubic meters of gas, which is 323.1 cubic meters per month. Depending on the region, the delivery amount will vary.

For example, for a house in Kharkiv, the monthly payment will be 138.9 hryvnias, in Kropyvnytskyi - 481.4 hryvnias, and in Mykolaiv - 642.9 hryvnias. The cost depends on regional factors such as the length of the network and the number of consumers.

Nevertheless, the most important thing is not only how much we pay for delivery but also for the gas itself. Naftogaz charges 7.96 hryvnias per cubic meter. Thus, a family that saves and consumes gas half as much can save from 332.4 to 1560 hryvnias on gas delivery per year. For the gas itself, such a family can save another 6173.7 hryvnias.

It is important to consider that even if you do not use gas but have a connection, you will have to pay for its delivery based on minimum volumes, which depend on usage (for cooking, heating water, heating).

Thus, implementing energy-saving measures can significantly reduce expenses on gas bills.

Earlier, there was also information about the possibility of reducing payments for utilities for Ukrainians.
