Vegetable prices throughout the summer season remained at a high level due to adverse weather conditions.

The "Khvylya" portal conducted a study that revealed price differences for cucumbers, tomatoes, and peppers in markets and supermarkets.

Tomatoes

At the Shuvar market, red tomatoes cost an average of 35.00 UAH per kg, while in supermarkets the average price for red tomatoes is 78.96 UAH per kg. This shows a significant price difference, with supermarket prices being more than twice as high.

The price for top-quality tomatoes at the Shuvar market averages 52.50 UAH per kg. In supermarkets, the average price for top-quality tomatoes is 68.90 UAH per kg, which is about 31% higher.

Cucumbers

Long cucumbers at Shuvar cost an average of 55.00 UAH per kg. The closest price in supermarkets is "long-fruited cucumbers" at 54.99 UAH per kg in the Novus chain of stores.

Peppers

Yellow bell peppers at Shuvar cost an average of 65.00 UAH per kg. In supermarkets, the price for "yellow bell" peppers averages 125.93 UAH per kg, which is almost twice the market price.

Overall, prices at the Shuvar market are usually lower than in supermarkets for many products, sometimes significantly. However, the price difference depends on the product, and in some cases (such as long cucumbers) prices are very similar. It is also worth noting that wholesale prices are often represented at the Shuvar market.

Previously, prices for fish and seafood in supermarkets and the market were shown.
