Ukrainians were told how to obtain insurance experience by caring for relatives with disabilities.

The State Labor Office explained how to account for periods of care for persons with disabilities in insurance experience according to the legislation on state pension insurance.

By law, periods of care for disabled persons of group I, pensioners who require care, as well as for children with disabilities can be included in the insurance experience.

The person providing care must be healthy, not retired, and without disabilities. During the care, they should not work or receive assistance from social protection agencies.

The insurer for such persons is the social protection agency that pays assistance and makes insurance contributions. The calculation of insurance experience is based on data from personalized accounting.

Accruing insurance experience

For periods before the introduction of the personalized accounting system, the documents and procedures provided by the legislation in force before the adoption of the Law 'On mandatory state pension insurance' are used.

Accounting for periods of care for people with disabilities in insurance experience is important for ensuring pension rights and social support for persons who assist persons with special needs.
