Fines up to 6800 hryvnias: who is threatened with punishment for wearing military uniforms.
According to inkorr.com: In Ukraine, strict penalties have been introduced for those who wear military uniforms illegally. Offenders may face serious fines and confiscation of clothing.
Who the legislation applies to
The law clearly defines the circle of people entitled to wear military uniforms. This list includes servicemen, students of military educational institutions, reservists, and other categories. Violations are subject to fines ranging from 2550 to 3400 hryvnias, as well as the possibility of confiscation of the uniform. Repeated violations lead to even harsher consequences.
- As noted by the police:
'In case of repeated violation within a year, the fine increases to 6800 hryvnias, or public works may be assigned for a duration of 30-40 hours.'
Law enforcement rights
Law enforcement officers have the right to check the documents of individuals wearing military uniforms. If violations are found, they can draw up protocols to protect Ukrainian symbols and monuments to defenders.
Punishments for traffic violations
According to the latest changes in legislation, fines for violations of the Traffic Rules (TR) in Ukraine remain unchanged. For speeding, running a red light, and other violations, certain fines are imposed at a minimum.
Citizens can also receive an administrative fine for non-compliance with passport control rules. For example, failing to timely paste a photo into a passport book can lead to a fine of up to 51 hryvnias.
Thus, using a military uniform without permission in Ukraine carries serious consequences, including significant fines and seizure of clothing. The law clearly defines the circle of individuals authorized to wear the uniform, and law enforcement can check documents and punish violators. These measures are aimed at maintaining respect for Ukrainian symbolism and honoring the memory of national heroes.
