Ukrainians may face fines from the TCC even abroad: what threats arise for violations.

Ukrainian military conscripts living abroad need to be cautious about potential fines from the Territorial Election Commissions (TEC). The enforcement service may block their bank accounts and seize funds if the fine is not paid on time. Financial restrictions may be applied a few months after the fine has been imposed.

Returning to Ukraine with an unpaid fine may lead to detention and inspection by the TEC. The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine emphasizes that staying abroad does not exempt military conscripts from responsibility for violations of military registration rules.

Fines are imposed for failing to report a change of residence, not providing information about marriage or the birth of a child, studying without notifying the TEC, and other similar violations that need to be documented.

'Upon returning to Ukraine, an open fine can serve as a basis for detention and immediate inspection by the TEC', experts on military registration warn.

If a citizen disagrees with the fine, they can file a lawsuit within 10 days. However, it is worth noting that the trial process may take several months, during which bank accounts will remain blocked.

It is important to note that after voluntarily paying the fine, it can no longer be contested.
