Starting April 2026, Ukrainians to Receive 1,500 Hryvnia Payments – Who Gets It Automatically.
New Financial Assistance for Ukrainians
According to Novyny.live: Beginning in April 2026, citizens of Ukraine will start receiving a new financial benefit worth 1,500 hryvnia. The payments will be issued automatically, requiring no applications to government offices. Funds will be deposited into bank accounts or delivered via Ukrposhta.
Eligible groups for this support include:
- pensioners enrolled in the mandatory state pension insurance system;
- individuals receiving disability benefits;
- low-income families;
- internally displaced persons (IDPs).
This initiative is part of the government's broader effort to assist the most vulnerable segments of society during a challenging period.
International Support and Commentary
In addition, the Czech humanitarian organization 'People in Need' will provide Ukrainians with microgrants of up to $4,000, offering crucial aid to those in need. Meanwhile, UNHCR will distribute financial assistance in Sumy for internally displaced people and refugees, further strengthening social protections for this group.
Andriy Motovylovets commented on the situation, stating: 'a broken parliament has an impact on the government and will continue to affect how the budget is implemented.'
He also emphasized that 'the army is a priority, the money will be there for it,' highlighting the importance of financial resources in the context of the country's military needs.
The introduction of this new financial aid reflects the government's efforts to support vulnerable populations facing economic hardships. A key feature of this initiative is the automatic payment mechanism, designed to simplify access to financial support. Combined with international assistance, such as the microgrants from the Czech humanitarian organization, this step could significantly improve living conditions for many Ukrainians, especially those affected by war and economic challenges. The government's strategy also underscores the prioritization of social program funding alongside military expenditures.
