Ukrainians warned about a new scheme of scammers on Telegram: police advice.
The Center for Countering Disinformation has discovered a new fraudulent scheme on Telegram
The Center for Countering Disinformation under the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine has identified a new fraudulent scheme targeting users of the Telegram messenger.
Criminals send messages offering to activate a free premium subscription until 2026 via a special link.
According to the NSDC, the true purpose of this scheme is to gain access to users' personal data for further use in criminal activities.
Experts at the center emphasize that the official interface and structure of links for activating Telegram's premium subscription differ from those offered by scammers.
Specialists recommend that messenger users avoid clicking on suspicious links from unknown senders, block such contacts, and enable two-factor authentication to enhance account security.
Recall that the mobile operator lifecell warned about a new fraud scheme involving fake bonuses.
