Ukrainians will be protected from spam and fraud: operators will be able to block scammers.
The Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine has allowed telecommunications operators to combat spam and fraudulent calls. Now companies can automatically block annoying advertisements and potentially fraudulent calls to improve service quality for users. The implementation of these changes will occur in stages, allowing operators to prepare for the innovations.
For this, business structures need to sign a contract with operators and register phone numbers, which will help avoid automatic blocking of unregistered numbers. In addition, users will be able to submit requests to block specific numbers in case of receiving spam.
Other changes in the telecommunications sector
Among other changes, the Ministry of Digital Transformation has allowed users to enable/disable content services without additional effort and has set the obligation for operators to accurately specify internet speed in contracts with subscribers. These changes aim to improve the quality of telecommunications services and ensure user convenience.
Thus, the Ministry of Digital Transformation has implemented new rules that allow operators to combat spam and unauthorized calls, improving service for subscribers in the telecommunications sector and ensuring greater transparency in agreements between companies and users.
