A Ukrainian Spent 145,000 Hryvnias on a Two-Week Bali Getaway: A Trip Breakdown.
A Journey to Bali
According to Novyny.live: Bali, a well-known tourist hotspot in Indonesia, is the focus of a Ukrainian traveler's account of her trip from Kyiv in 2026. She reports that the total travel time from Kyiv to Bali took two days, with a flight duration of about 15 hours and a layover in Istanbul adding up to 17 hours. The airfare came to nearly 60,000 hryvnias, and a tourist visa cost 35 euros (1,773 hryvnias).
Costs and Impressions
During her stay on the island, the traveler booked a villa for 130 dollars (5,720 hryvnias) per night and also rented a spot by the ocean for 120 dollars (5,280 hryvnias). Her total expenses for two weeks in Bali reached 145,000 hryvnias. According to her, dinner typically ranged from 800 to 2,000 hryvnias, and a taxi ride (by motorbike) cost roughly 40 hryvnias.
“The total flight time is about 15 hours. With the layover in Istanbul, it’s 17. It’s a very comfortable flight: they give you hygiene kits, feed you, and you can watch a movie. The time passes quickly.”
She also noted: “For me, this is one of the most convenient ways to cross the border. We arrived in the morning, but our flight was in the evening, so we booked a room to rest a bit.”
Additional costs during her Bali stay included internet access for 800 hryvnias. As a result, the trip to Bali was not only memorable but also required careful financial planning.
This story highlights the growing trend of Ukrainians choosing Bali as a destination, likely due to its relatively affordable travel and service costs. Since such trips involve significant expenses, travelers should plan their budgets in advance and consider all potential costs to avoid surprises during their vacation. Bali continues to attract visitors with its natural beauty, culture, and opportunities for active recreation.
