The Ukrainian comedy 'Train on December 31' became the box office leader among domestic films in 2025
The film earned over 28 million UAH and sold 167 thousand tickets during the first week of the new year.
In total, during the first official weekend, the film earned over 17 million UAH and sold 100 thousand tickets. Thus, 'Train on December 31' outperformed even international premieres such as 'Nosferatu', 'The Daughter of My Therapist', and 'Kayara'.
It should be noted that even before the official screening began, the film showed its popularity, earning over 11.8 million UAH during the pre-premiere screening.
The film is directed by Oleg Borshevskyi, and produced by Yuriy Horbunov. The band Yaktak performed the soundtrack titled 'Waiting at Home', while Klavdia Petrivna created the track 'Winter'.
The creators of the film emphasize that the project was funded by sponsors, without involving public funds.
Despite this, former British Prime Minister Boris Johnson played himself in the New Year's Ukrainian feature film 'Train on December 31'.
