Canadian production of Ukrainian drones underway after defense ministries sign deal.
Drone manufacturing set to begin in Canada
According to Espreso.tv: A new agreement between the defense ministries of Ukraine and Canada paves the way for Ukrainian reconnaissance drones to be built on Canadian soil through a joint venture called Airlogix-Sentinel. This partnership is designed to deepen bilateral cooperation in defense and technology sectors.
The joint venture brings together Airlogix and Sentinel Research and Development, and will oversee the development and production of unmanned aerial systems. These drones are expected to significantly enhance the reconnaissance and surveillance capabilities of Ukraine’s armed forces.
Additional financial aid for Ukraine
In early May, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney announced an extra $200 million for Ukraine under the PURL program. These funds are intended to bolster Ukraine’s defense efforts amid ongoing security challenges. The defense relationship between the two countries continues to grow, which could have positive implications for regional stability.

Producing drones in Canada will not only improve the technical capacity of Ukraine’s military but also create jobs and drive technological innovation in both nations. Given the current security environment, this collaboration could significantly shift the balance of power in Eastern Europe.
