Ukrainian Olympians to receive payments for 4th-6th places in Paris.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a draft resolution on encouraging athletes and their coaches for their performance at the summer Olympic Games in Paris. It concerns athletes who took 4th-6th places, as well as their coaches. This was reported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Ukraine.

It is separately emphasized that this decision will be implemented within the framework of the previously approved budget and does not require additional budget funds. 

The resolution provides for the following one-Time payments:

• 4th place – 250 thousand UAH
• 5th place – 200 thousand UAH
• 6th place – 150 thousand UAH

At the Games in Paris, 29 Ukrainian athletes took places from the fourth to the sixth. They received diplomas from the International Olympic Committee.

Let us remind you, the Ukrainian team won 12 medals at the 2024 Olympic Games. In particular, Ukraine won three «golds» – team in fencing (Kharlan, Komashchuk, Kravatska, Bakastova), in athletics in high jump (Mahuchikh), in boxing in the weight category up to 80 kg (Khizhniak).

Silver 

• Serhii Kulish (rifle shooting, small-bore rifle from 50 meters from three positions)
• Illia Kovtun (artistic gymnastics, parallel bars exercise)
• Parviz Nasibov (Greco-Roman wrestling, weight category up to 67 kilograms)
• Liudmyla Luzan, Anastasiia Rybachok (canoeing, C2, 500 meters)
• Irina Koliadenko (women's wrestling, weight category up to 62 kilograms)

Bronze 

• Olha Kharlan (saber fencing, individual competition)
• Iryna Herashchenko (athletics, high jump)
• Mykhailo Kokhan (athletics, hammer throw)
• Zhan Beleniuk (Greco-Roman wrestling, weight category up to 97 kilograms)

Let us remind you, the summer Olympic Games were held in Paris, the capital of France, and 16 other cities throughout the European part of France, as well as in Tahiti – an island in the French overseas country and collective of French Polynesia. These Olympic Games featured the debut of breakdancing as an Olympic sport, and it is expected to be the last Olympic Games held under the presidency of IOC Thomas Bach.

The 2024 Games were the first to have an equal number of male and female athletes.

By the way, gold Olympic medals at the Games in Paris this year are more expensive than ever: the market value of the raw materials they are made from is about $900.
