Up to 10 Days of Leave for Ukrainian Soldiers: Will They Lose Their Pay?.
Family Leave for Military Personnel
According to Novyny.live: Ukrainian service members are entitled to up to 10 calendar days of family leave while still receiving their full monetary compensation. This policy allows soldiers to attend to personal matters without sacrificing their financial support.
The duration of this family leave does not exceed 10 calendar days. Crucially, all payments continue during this period, ensuring uninterrupted funding. Additionally, travel time to and from the leave destination is not counted against the leave allowance, though it cannot exceed two days each way.
As a result, a soldier may be absent from their duty station for up to 14 days when travel is included. Full pay is maintained throughout the leave, a vital provision for those needing time to handle personal and family issues. This initiative highlights state support during important moments in military life.
The introduction of family leave marks a significant step in providing social support for military personnel, which can positively impact morale among troops and their families. It also reflects recognition of family values and the need to help soldiers manage personal matters while serving. Amid Ukraine's prolonged conflict, such measures can help preserve stability and the psychological well-being of service members and their loved ones.
