Ukrainian Journalists Visit Kursk Region for the First Time: Report.

Ukrainian journalists visited Sudzha in the Kursk region for the first Time after the Ukrainian Armed Forces arrived. They spoke with local residents and showcased the situation in the Russian region. The report from Sudzha was shown on TSN.

In particular, according to the journalists, about 100 people remain in Sudzha. Besides adults, there are also children. Ukrainian defenders removed the Russian flag from one of the administrative buildings in Sudzha, located about 10 km from the border with the Sumy region.

Additionally, at the entrance to the city, there is a burned-out column of Russian army equipment with Russian license plates and specific enemy markings. The combat vehicles were heading towards the Ukrainian border.

The city of Sudzha itself was not heavily damaged. Most of the damage is from aerial bombs dropped by the Russians themselves. People are in the basements of houses. Currently, Ukrainian troops are taking them under their care. In particular, they brought them humanitarian aid.

Local residents who remain in the city complain that they were not only not evacuated but weren't even informed about the evacuation. Some of them have been in basements for a week and it's almost impossible to leave because of the aerial bombs. People have critically little food left. Meanwhile, the local residents thank the Ukrainian Armed Forces for their help.

Let's recall, the Institute for the Study of War believes that Ukrainian forces have taken control of 41 settlements in the Kursk region. Meanwhile, on August 13, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukrainian forces control 74 settlements in the Kursk region.

As reported, over the past day, Ukrainian troops continued to advance in the Kursk direction by 1 to 3 km. It also became known that an Air Force fighter jet of the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck Russian positions in the Kursk region for the first time.
