Ukrainian soldier evaluated Polish ration: one dish received only 2 points

According to ТСН: A Ukrainian soldier, who runs a popular TikTok channel 'Rethink Recommends', tested the daily food ration of the Polish army. Despite the rich composition and quality drinks, one of the main dishes received a rather low score - only 2 out of 10.

He noted this in his TikTok video.

General impressions and composition

The review author noted that the Polish ration is designed for one day, but its volume could be enough even for two days in conditions of limited supply. He highlighted the 'strong' composition of the kit, which includes:

  • three packs of soft salty and sweet crackers;

  • drinks: tea, coffee, and hot chocolate (the latter called a 'top');

  • field stove, food heating bags, and cutlery (fork, knife, spoon).

Testing main dishes: from excitement to disappointment

The soldier evaluated the dishes on a ten-point scale, paying attention to taste and quality of ingredients:

  • Chili con carne with rice and beef (9/10) - the dish turned out to be quite tasty even in a cold state. The author emphasized the presence of 'real meat', although he noted that the large amount of beans might be a matter of taste.

  • Spaghetti bolognese (2/10) - this dish became the main disappointment. The pasta stuck together into a homogeneous mass, the taste was unclear, and the specified cheese was completely unnoticeable. The only plus of the dish was the meat, the soldier stated.

  • The sweet part of the ration included a cereal bar (very hard but tasty), peanut butter, and guava and peach jams. The reviewer noted that the desserts complement the large number of crackers in the kit well.

Audience reaction

The video sparked lively discussions online. Some users noted that testing the dishes without heating was inappropriate, while others questioned the authenticity of the kit due to the presence of inscriptions in Ukrainian. At the same time, many commentators compared the Polish ration to the American one (MRE), noting the similarity of their composition.

This food test gives an insight into the trend of military food in other countries and points to the importance of product quality in combat conditions. In a world where armies compete not only on the battlefield but also in ensuring their soldiers, such reviews become extremely relevant.
