Is Ukraine facing a new Polish strike at the border? Border guards' response.
At the border of Ukraine with Poland, there is currently no new blockade, and trucks are passing through as usual. This was reported by the spokesperson of the State Border Guard Service, Andriy Demchenko.
According to him, the movement of trucks remains intense in all directions.
The representative of the SBGS also added that Ukrainian services are in constant dialogue with Polish colleagues, and Ukrainian diplomatic institutions in Poland are monitoring the situation.
The blocking of traffic for trucks — the information and actions that could have been initiated by Polish farmers on Polish territory — is not currently observed. Of course, we expect that the blocking of traffic will not take place.
It was previously reported that Polish farmers are preparing to block the "Medyka - Shegyni" checkpoint. The Polish side informed that farmers announced a possible protest action in the form of blocking the movement of freight vehicles in front of the "Medyka - Shegyni" checkpoint from October 8 to December 31, 2024.
It should be noted that the State Border Guard Service had previously reported possible delays with crossing the border at the "Medyka-Shegyni" checkpoint for two months due to repair works from the Polish side.
The Polish side has already started repair works at the "Medyka" checkpoint to restore the metal structure of one of the canopies. According to preliminary data, the works will last until November 12, 2024.
