«Ukrenergo» has expanded the list of regions where blackout schedules will apply on September 12.
Today from 1:00 PM to 11:00 PM, there will be power outages in 16 regions of Ukraine. This information was provided by the company 'Ukrenergo'.
From 1:00 PM to 11:00 PM, Kyiv, Kyiv, Cherkasy, Chernihiv, Kharkiv, Zhytomyr, Sumy, Poltava, Zaporizhzhia, Odesa, Kirovohrad, Dnipropetrovsk, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Vinnytsia, Chernivtsi, and Khmelnytskyi regions will experience power outages
The reason for these restrictions is the reduction in the operation of solar power plants due to worsening weather conditions and decreased production at thermal power plants.
Earlier, we reported on the resumption of power outages in Kyiv, as well as in Kyiv, Odesa, Dnipropetrovsk, and Donetsk regions. Previously, the company 'Ukrenergo' reported that there would be no power restrictions on September 12.
Ukraine currently cannot predict how the heating season will go this year. The country is preparing for winter and possible attacks from Russia, ensuring the protection of energy facilities at the first and second levels of defense.
It is known that as a result of the cancellation of hourly blackout schedules from September 9, electricity consumption in Ukraine has increased.
The State Agency for Reconstruction and Development of Infrastructure has begun construction of the third level of protection at the substations of the National Energy Company 'Ukrenergo', but international partners do not consider it advisable to finance such an expensive project until its tests are conducted.
In addition, the European Commission is working to increase the maximum volume of electricity supplies to Ukraine.
As previously reported, the former head of 'Ukrenergo' Volodymyr Kudrytskyi stated that Ukraine's energy facilities have three levels of protection in the form of engineering fortifications in the event of an attack from Russia.
