Ukrenergo responded whether the power outage schedules will return in the summer.
Acting Chairman of the Board of Ukrenergo Oleksiy Brecht stated that the situation in the energy system is currently under control. He emphasized that electricity consumption is currently covered by energy imports on commercial terms. Brecht is also confident that the electricity system will operate stably during the summer.
There is currently a surplus of capacity in the electricity market of 300-2000 MW per hour. With the increase in electricity consumption in the summer due to air conditioning, this will be covered by solar power plants.
Therefore, Ukrainians should not worry about potential power outages in the summer. According to Brecht, the Ukrainian energy system is ready for increased demand and can ensure stable network operation thanks to solar power plants.
Summarizing: The Acting Chairman of the Board of Ukrenergo stated that the Ukrainian energy system is ready for the summer peak in electricity consumption and will ensure stable network operation due to the presence of solar power plants.Read also
