"Ukrenergo" introduced emergency power outages in two regions.
Due to the consequences of Russian shelling, emergency power outages were introduced in some areas of the Kharkiv and Poltava regions from 10:15. This was necessary to prevent equipment overload and reduce voltage in the oblast's power grids, reports "Ukrenergo".
Emergency restoration work was completed by 11:31.
In particular, as a result of hostilities and other reasons, 538 settlements were fully or partially de-energized this morning. New power outages were recorded in the Donetsk, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, Chernihiv, Poltava, and Odesa regions.
As reported, today, on October 3, no power consumption restrictions are expected.
Recall, the UN Human Rights Monitoring Mission in Ukraine (HRMMU) predicts that this winter Ukrainians should expect power outages ranging from four to 18 hours a day.
It is worth noting that government officials claim that by the end of October and in November, there will be no problems with energy supply in Ukraine. They also express hope that this year's winter will pass almost without power outages, as it did last year.
Earlier, it was reported that due to the cancellation of hourly disconnections schedules from September 9, electricity consumption in Ukraine is increasing.
The State Agency for Infrastructure Restoration and Development has started the construction of the third level of passive protection at NEK "Ukrenergo" substations, but international partners do not see the feasibility of financing such an expensive project before testing this technology. Former "Ukrenergo" head Volodymyr Kudrytskyi previously announced that Ukraine's energy facilities will have three levels of protection in the form of engineering reinforcements in case of Russian attacks.
In addition, the European Commission is working on increasing the maximum volume of electricity supply to Ukraine. G7 countries and other partners have raised over $4 billion since the beginning of full-scale Russian aggression to restore Ukraine's energy infrastructure.
