According to inkorr.com: The defense industry of Ukraine impresses with its successes! As reported by the General Director of UOP, Herman Smetanin, in 2024 it ranked 49th in the list of the 100 largest defense companies in the world. The volume of military products of all leading companies increased by 11.2% and amounted to $661 billion.

UOP's revenue in 2024 exceeded $3 billion, compared to $2.2 billion in 2023.

'This growth of 36.3% significantly exceeds the global average of 11.2% among the TOP 100 defense companies,' explained the CEO.

Achievements and leaders in arms production

Among the most powerful manufacturers by revenues are:

  • Lockheed Martin ($68.4 billion);
  • RTX ($43.5 billion);
  • CASIC (China, $38.7 billion).

The fastest-growing revenues were from:

  • Anduril (USA, +138%);

  • SES (Luxembourg, +93.7%);
  • NORINCO (+93.6%).

The list of the 30 most dynamic companies includes firms from the USA, China, Turkey, Europe, and South Korea. However, only 54 companies from the TOP 100 defense companies showed revenue growth last year, while the rest experienced a decline.

'Ukraine is becoming an important player in the global defense industry market. These figures reflect the work of more than 56,000 arms makers, and I thank each of you for this result. However, we understand that this is still not enough. Therefore, we are diligently working to increase the production of arms and military equipment for the Ukrainian troops,' emphasized Smetanin.

Thus, in 2024, the Ukrainian defense industry demonstrated positive growth in military production, ranking 49th among the 100 largest defense companies in the world. UOP's CEO Herman Smetanin emphasized the importance of these achievements while also stressing the need for further improvements in military equipment for the Ukrainian military.
