According to Novyny.live: Ukrzaliznytsia has unveiled plans for its first-ever Summer Steam Weekend 2026, scheduled for June 27–28 on the Haivoron narrow-gauge railway. The event will coincide with Ukraine's Constitution Day, offering a vibrant celebration for railway history enthusiasts and families alike.
Exhibits and Passenger Conveniences
Attendees will get to see Ukraine's oldest operational steam locomotive, the 159 №4-95, which was built in 1938. Another highlight is the Er 798-71 steam train, manufactured in 1954. These vintage trains will let passengers soak in the atmosphere of bygone eras while traveling along scenic routes.
Tickets for the retro trains are already on sale through the Ukrzaliznytsia app and website, making booking straightforward for anyone interested. To accommodate travelers, additional carriages will be added from June 26 to 28 on the following routes:
- Kyiv — Haivoron
- Lviv — Haivoron
- Odesa — Haivoron
Trains departing Kyiv, Lviv, and Odesa will arrive in Haivoron at 8:00 AM on June 26 and 27, ensuring a smooth start for participants. Return trips from Haivoron are set for June 27 and 28 at 8:40 PM.
