According to Novyny.live: During the holiday season, travelers in Ukraine can now hire station assistants to help carry heavy bags and suitcases at train stations. This service comes with a fee, but it is offered free of charge to passengers with disabilities and those with limited mobility. The cost is set at 55 hryvnias per piece of luggage weighing over 40 kilograms.

In addition, Ukrzaliznytsia has expanded its summer schedule by introducing 12 new train routes. The company has also shortened travel times for three trains, extended four routes to reach mountainous areas, and upgraded eight daytime trains to operate daily. These changes aim to make passenger travel more convenient and efficient throughout the summer season.

How to Request a Station Assistant

To book a station porter, passengers can use their personal account on the Ukrzaliznytsia website. The steps include:

  • selecting the 'Profile' category and then 'My Tickets';
  • clicking on the 'menu' icon;
  • choosing the 'Order an Assistant' service;

After that, travelers need to specify the type of assistance required. This feature is designed to benefit many passengers, particularly those traveling with heavy items or who need extra support.
