New Paper Ticket Rules for International Train Travel
According to Novyny.live: Ukrzaliznytsia, Ukraine's state railway operator, has announced that passengers on select international routes must now present printed paper tickets. While domestic travelers can still rely on convenient electronic tickets, those heading to Hungary and Austria will need to show physical boarding documents. This change is driven by requirements from the railway authorities in those countries.
Affected International Trains
Printing tickets is mandatory for the following services:
- Train 009K: Kyiv to Budapest
- Train 010K: Budapest to Kyiv
- Train 749D: Kyiv to Vienna
- Train 149D: Vienna to Kyiv
- Train 140D: Chop to Vienna
- Train 146D: Chop to Vienna
- Train 143D: Vienna to Chop
The rule applies to all passengers traveling on these routes and is designed to enhance safety and streamline the boarding process.
In addition to this policy update, Ukrzaliznytsia has revised its summer schedule by introducing 12 new train services. This expansion offers travelers more options and greater flexibility when planning their trips. To avoid any last-minute issues, passengers are strongly advised to take these changes into account when purchasing tickets.
The introduction of a paper ticket requirement for international routes highlights Ukrzaliznytsia's commitment to maintaining high safety standards. It also reflects the railway's efforts to adapt to passenger needs and the growing demand for cross-border travel.
Adapting to these new rules will be essential for anyone planning international trips, helping them avoid potential complications during their journeys.
