The USA and Ukraine discuss the situation on the battlefield
US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin and Ukrainian Minister of Defense Rustem Umierov held a phone conversation in which they discussed the dynamics of hostilities and the most important needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in fighting Russian aggression. This was stated by Pentagon spokesman General Patrick Ryder.
"Secretary Austin spoke by phone with his Ukrainian counterpart, Defense Minister Rustem Umierov, to discuss the dynamics of hostilities in Ukraine and security assistance priorities," the US defense spokesman noted.
During the conversation, Rustem Umierov provided Lloyd Austin with current information about operations on the battlefield and Ukraine's needs in military capabilities.
Both leaders also discussed the successful meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group, which took place earlier this month.
During the conversation, the head of the Pentagon confirmed the US commitment to cooperate with allies and partners, "to provide Ukraine with the tools necessary to win the fight against Russian aggression"
The Pentagon spokesman noted that both leaders pledged to maintain close contact in the future.
