Ukraine and Russia continue negotiations in the Istanbul format. Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Rustem Umerov put forward three important demands from the Ukrainian side: a complete ceasefire, the organization of a meeting between the leaders of the two countries with the participation of the USA and others, as well as the return of all prisoners, including civilians and children. He emphasized that Ukraine is ready for a ceasefire today, but the lack of a political decision in the Kremlin hinders this process. Umerov also noted that a meeting of leaders could help resolve political and security issues, but the situation is complicated by the question of whether Putin is ready to step out of the shadows and participate in the negotiations. Russia proposes short truces on the front to prohibit the bodies of the dead and wounded, but notes that the meeting at the presidential level must be properly prepared. Umerov expressed gratitude to Turkey for its active participation in creating a platform for dialogue, emphasizing that peace is possible, but for that, Moscow must change its approach - from ultimatums to responsibility, from war to solutions.
